When babies join us earlier than expected, you can’t help but marvel at their fragile, tiny beyond belief state. It’s sometimes hard to image how fast they will grow into vibrant little people with curious and entertaining personalities. For these beautiful twins, my 4 month old nephew, and so many other preemie babies, I’m so thankful for the amazing medical care which allows them to grow into one of the most beautiful forms of love this world knows.

Apricot Soirée Photography is a Twin Cities portrait studio offering maternity, newborn, family, and senior photography in St. Paul and Minneapolis, MN and the surrounding areas of Eagan, Burnsville, Bloomington, Edina, Apple Valley, Inver Grove Heights, Eden Prairie, Rosemount, Woodbury, Farmington, Richfield, Lakeville, and Roseville, MN.

Normally, everything we post on the blog is a result of a team effort. We brainstorm session concepts, we shoot together, and we write blog posts in a unified voice. However, this time around we are doing something a little different. For those of you who haven’t seen us in a while, Nikki is having a baby. So in this post, Nikki’s bringing her excellent baby carrying skills and words on motherhood and Rebecca’s hung out behind the camera to photograph the soon to be mascot of Apricot Soirée Photography.

As a photographer, capturing life’s moments is important to me. And it was just as important in my personal life to have images to share with my child to remember the time when they lived in my belly. Even though you may feel as large as a house or you may be incredibly uncomfortable, maternity photos are something you and your family will appreciate for a lifetime.

I can definitely say this pregnancy has been a lot different than my first. It’s come with “all-day sickness”, heartburn, and exhaustion in doses much stronger than before. However, it has also come with a lot less “new mom” worry of doing something wrong. During it all, I’ve worked to stay positive and have spent a lot of time enjoying the little kicks and flips that this baby performs on a regular basis.

For both pregnancies, my husband and I decided wait to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. I have come to enjoy everyone’s guess, and even more entertaining is the unconventional science behind each guess. So, what do you think the baby will be?
